Often the licenses have already been bought, and there was a training session, too. 3 months later, 4 people use Copilot to rephrase emails. Everyone else carries on as before. 🙃
It is rarely the tool
By now, the tool is the easiest part. What is usually missing are the questions that should come first:
- Where should AI models take us as a company?
- Which processes should actually get better?
- What is the team allowed to do with AI tools, and what not?
- And what happens to our data along the way?
If these questions are not answered, AI tools remain a toy for a few enthusiasts. If they are, AI models really make everyday work easier. Practical and without buzzword bingo. 🤓
The series: What comes before the AI tool
In 5 parts, I take on one of these questions at a time:
- Part 1 · Kick-off: Why the tool is the easiest part (this post)
- Part 2 · Strategy & organization: Where should AI models take us as a company?
- Part 3 · Processes: Which processes should actually get better?
- Part 4 · Rules & compliance: What is the team allowed to do with AI tools, and what not?
- Part 5 · Information security: What happens to our data along the way?
A question for you
Where are you right now? Licenses bought, first experiments, or already clear ground rules?
