You Are Here. From Location to Plan.

A map of circuit traces with a red dot saying “You are here.” A green route leads via location, orientation and route to the handover at an AI chip.

You know those signs? In a shopping mall, at a hiking trailhead, at the zoo. A big map, a red dot and three words next to it: You are here.

Only the red dot makes the whole map make sense. Before, it is just a tangle of paths. After, I know where I stand and can think about where I want to go.

That image has been on my mind a lot over the past few weeks.

“We’re actually still at zero”

At it-sa I had around 40 conversations with managing directors, heads of IT and information security officers. One sentence came up again and again: “With AI, we’re actually still at zero.”

When we took a closer look, the red dot was often somewhere else entirely:

  • The developers have long been using Copilot or ChatGPT, just not through official channels.
  • Sales and administration write texts with AI. Which data ends up in which tools, nobody really knows.
  • There are no rules, but no ban either. So everyone does it a little differently.

Officially at zero, unofficially in the middle of it. And that is exactly where the risk lies.

Why location comes first

At the same time, pressure from outside is growing. Since February 2025, the EU AI Act has required companies to ensure AI literacy among their employees. The Cyber Resilience Act requires software manufacturers to develop securely, and that includes code written by an AI. And anyone working to ISO 27001, or planning to, has to build AI into their security management.

Many respond with a quick plan: buy a tool, write a policy, book a training. That is understandable. But if you plan a route without knowing where you stand, you quickly end up going in circles.

That’s why, for me, every AI introduction starts with an honest look at where you are: in technology, in security and with the people.

My offer: “Sie sind hier.” (You are here.)

Out of my experience over the past months, I have built an offer. It is named exactly like the sign and leads in four stages from location to plan.

1. Location: the red dot

In a quick check, we look together at where you really stand. Which systems and tools do you use, officially and unofficially? Which security and certification requirements do you have to meet? And what is the mood in the team: more enthusiasm, more uncertainty, or both?

2. Orientation: AI basics

In three hours of AI basics with your key managers, we cover the fundamentals. What can AI do today, where are its limits, and what does that mean for you? I take the fears seriously, and the enthusiasm too. Along the way, you lay a foundation for the AI literacy the AI Act requires.

3. Route: drawing in the path

In a strategy workshop, we define where you want to go. The result is a concrete action plan: what happens first, who is responsible, which rules you need, and where experimenting is allowed.

4. Handover: the map in your hand

A few days after the workshop, we meet again for two hours. With a little distance, you look at the results with fresh eyes, and I have prepared them for you: your AI map, one clear page with location, goal and route. We go through it together, sharpen it where needed and agree on the first steps. Afterwards, you can take it to your leadership team, show it to your team or simply hang it on the wall.

What it means for your time

  • Location: up to three conversations of about an hour each, for example with management, IT and information security
  • Orientation: three hours of AI basics with up to 12 managers, on site or online
  • Route: a half-day strategy workshop with the core team
  • Handover: two hours, a few days later

For you, that is about twelve hours spread over roughly three weeks. I take care of the analysis, the preparation and working out your AI map.

Who it is for

I built “Sie sind hier.” for mid-sized software and tech companies that are just starting with AI or are already in the middle of it, and need to demonstrate security. Whether you feel you are at zero or have already tried a lot: the red dot is where it starts.

It takes about three weeks and costs EUR 3,900 (plus VAT). For larger organizations with several sites or management levels, there is an extended version.

Why do I state the price openly here? Because I like to know where I stand before I call someone, too.

A question for you

If you think about your company today: where would you put the red dot? And would your colleagues put it in the same place?

Where are you right now?

Let’s find out where you stand.
