I had to take out a new insurance policy. Building insurance — I'd never done that before. And once again I saw how much AI can support you, without fully replacing the human being.
I don't like feeling dependent and uninformed. Until now, that meant: research, research, research — in other words, time.
This time I asked Claude to walk me through the most important aspects and explain them to me. Plus the key things that can differ between insurers, and ways to optimize the policy.
And sure enough: very quickly I had the information that mattered to me. For example:
- Problems with exterior pipes should be covered.
- Gross negligence should be too — for example, if a spark from the grill burns down the house.
- You can optimize quite well through deductibles in the natural hazards coverage.
Probably old news for insurance agents, but for me, hugely helpful.
My insurance broker was surprised by the in-depth questions I asked her. She said she hadn't experienced that before.
In the end, by the way, our insurance broker really delivered. She had thought of everything, and the conversation was a great one — she always works at eye level anyway, but this time I felt it even more. And compared to other offers, hers was unbeatable on price. Perfect!
❓ Do you have other examples like this that might give you an idea of what AI can be used for?
