This week I was once again with a care company to analyze and optimize processes together with a group.
At times it was quite exhausting for everyone involved (euphemistically: “intense” 😉). What seems obvious in everyday work suddenly has to be explained, questioned and brought together with other perspectives.
This detailed work takes energy. But it also shows where change can become concrete.
What we had at the end
- 2 optimized and documented processes on the brown paper
- An action plan, so that the joint work turns into next steps
- A path to digital form: we looked at how the results can be digitized more easily with an AI model. This is exactly where it shows why processes come before the AI tool (more in “Only Petra knows that.”).
What made this session special
It wasn’t just the result. This group is very close to my heart. People treat each other with appreciation, and there is a lot of laughter while still working with focus.
In the feedback, I heard among other things that it had been impressive how I brought the different threads and pieces of information together. How I kept creating focus and, through that, structure.
And my stomach did a little jump again. That word again: structure.
What structure means to me
It keeps coming up when others describe what they value about my work. It is something I do so naturally that I sometimes only notice its value through feedback like this.
For me, structure does not mean forcing everything into a rigid grid. It means making connections visible, giving orientation and letting a shared picture emerge from many individual pieces of information. So that it becomes clearer what matters right now and how to move forward.
So there must be something to it. 😊
P.S.: For information security reasons, the image is AI-generated.
